Mint introduced the American Silver Eagle in 1986. The series is known for its breathtaking imagery, which celebrates the strength gained from the nationally cherished ideals of liberty and freedom. This beautiful two-piece Silver Eagle set features the two 2023 dated standard proof releases of the series, one struck at the West Point Mint, and one a product of the San Francisco Mint. This 2023 American Silver Eagle set includes two coins minted from one Troy ounce of 99.9% fine silver.

The design of each 40.60 mm diameter coin is exquisitely highlighted by a gleaming proof finish. The 2023 dated coins represent the third year of issue of the exciting Type-2 variety Silver Eagle. The coins are each struck with an innovative reeded edge variation as a counterfeit deterrent.

Each coin is issued as U. Legal tender, with a face value of one dollar. Each silver dollar coin in the set qualified for the collectible First Releases (FR) attribution. Obverse: Lady Liberty walks towards the rising sun on the obverse, wrapped in an American flag, while carrying a bundle of oak and laurel branches. Inscribed "LIBERTY, " "IN GOD WE TRUST, " "2023, " and the artist's monogram initials AW. The time-honored patriotic image is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by acclaimed early 20th-century medallic sculptor Adolph A. Reverse: The reverse is graced with the image of a majestic eagle with its wings uplifted in preparation for landing. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, " 1 OZ.
